POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, utility systems, and facility infrastructure to support manufacturing and business operations.
  • This role performs both preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maintain equipment performance, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with GMP, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards. The position may require shift work and emergency support outside normal working hours when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corrective Maintenance

  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities to resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently and minimize Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Support emergency maintenance activities during production and utility system interruptions.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) work orders according to the approved maintenance schedule.
  • Review and continuously improve PM plans and maintenance procedures to ensure they remain effective and aligned with current equipment conditions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are properly documented and completed in accordance with GMP requirements.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Maintain and continuously improve manufacturing and warehouse equipment, including but not limited to: Mixing equipment, Sieving machines, Packaging machines, Forklifts and warehouse equipment Material handling systems.
  • Support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of utility and facility systems, including: Electrical power distribution systems, HVAC systems, Compressed air systems, Purified/RO water systems, Dust extraction systems, Building and facility infrastructure, . . .

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean, TPM, and reliability initiatives.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance-related SOPs, Work Instructions (WIs), and maintenance records are available, updated, and compliant with GMP requirements.
  • Participate in equipment qualification, validation, and change control activities when required.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, GMP regulations, safety requirements, and environmental standards.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Diploma or College Degree in: Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering and Other relevant technical disciplines.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of maintenance experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, FMCG, food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with utilities, facilities, and industrial production equipment is preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Good knowledge of electrical systems, automation, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and utility system failures effectively.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM is preferred.
  • Understanding of GMP, ISO, safety, and environmental requirements is an advantage.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Basic English reading and writing skills for technical documents and reports.

Preferred Candidates

  • Candidates residing in Bien Hoa, Long Thanh, or areas near the Dong Nai factory are strongly preferred.
