Employment Litigation Associate
Durham, North Carolina | $150,000–$160,000/year | Hybrid
If you’re a litigator who wants to take on serious employment disputes, work directly on litigation strategy, and build your career handling matters from discovery through resolution, this opportunity puts those skills to work.
You’ll represent employers in state and federal litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and other workforce claims. Your work will directly help clients manage risk, defend their interests, and reach the strongest possible resolution.

What You’ll Do
• Defend employers in state and federal employment litigation
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and workforce claims
• Litigate FLSA and state and local wage payment disputes
• Handle disputes involving non-competes, non-solicitation, confidentiality agreements, trade secrets, and employee duty-of-loyalty claims
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Manage discovery, including document collection, review, production, and e-discovery vendors
• Represent employers in EEOC investigations, Department of Labor audits, OSHA inspections, and unemployment proceedings
• Represent clients in arbitration before FINRA, AAA, JAMS, and other providers
• Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk, mediation, settlement, and resolution options
• Conduct legal research and communicate clear, well-supported legal analysis
What You’ll Bring
• J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
• 3–5 years of litigation experience with strong foundational litigation skills
• Experience drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and taking or defending depositions
• Employment litigation experience, or substantial business or commercial litigation experience
• Admission to at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with the ability to become licensed in North Carolina within one year
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong references from supervising attorneys
Judicial clerkship experience and e-discovery experience are also valued.
