The Paralegal provides support across various matters, clients, projects and/or attorney teams. Assists with the preparation of legal documents, conducts factual and legal research, manages case files, and coordinates client communications under attorney supervision. The Paralegal plays a key role in delivering high-quality legal services to clients while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements under attorney direction.

  • Conduct factual and legal research using online databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and summarize findings for attorney review.

  • Fact/cite check large briefs according to the sources, including Bluebook, under tight deadlines.

  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist with discovery processes including document collection, review, organization, and production.

  • Prepare and file documents with federal, state, and local courts, including e-filing where applicable.

  • Monitor deadlines and maintain case calendars; coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties under attorney supervision.

  • Assist in trial and hearing preparation, including preparation of pretrial disclosures, trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness materials, and assistance with onsite war room and courtroom logistics.

  • Coordinate logistics for depositions, mediations, hearings, and other legal proceedings.

  • Review and summarize medical records, contracts, financial documents, and other case-related materials.

  • Enter and track billable time accurately in the firm's timekeeping system.

  • Coordinate case management from intake through resolution, anticipating attorney and client needs.

  • Participate in the training and professional development of other paralegals in routine practice elements.

  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling and correspondence.

  • Maintain compliance with firm policies and applicable professional responsibility rules.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules (federal, state, and local).

  • Advance knowledge utilizing online government e-filing systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis).

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to effectively and professionally provide quality client service to both internal and external clients.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.

  • Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., iManage) and e-filing platforms preferred.

  • Motivated self-starter successful in a high-performance, fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited supervision, seeking guidance on unusual or highly complex matters.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with teams to promote consistent and efficient workflow processes; including in hybrid and in-office settings.

 Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or Associate's degree combined with equivalent paralegal experience. 

 

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Political Science, or a related field.

 

Certification(s):

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred but not required.

  • Certified Paralegal (CP) designation through NALA or equivalent certification is a plus but not required.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.

  • Demonstrated ability to draft and review legal documents with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with court filing procedures and deadline management.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of paralegal experience in a large law firm environment.

  • Experience in litigation practice area

  • Familiarity with e-discovery tools and platforms (e.g., Relativity, Concordance).

  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously in a high-volume practice.

Hiring Salary Range:

$120,000.00 - $140,000.00
