Position Description
The Supply Chain intern assists PGW’s Procurement, Materials Management, and Fleet Departments, which are responsible for procurement, warehouse and delivery services, and fleet operations. Our Procurement Department currently manages nearly 1,000 contracts and has a vendor database of almost 3,000 separate business entities from which we solicit bids for services and commodities throughout the year. Our Materials Management Department holds more than 10,000 unique items, totaling $15 million in inventory value. Our Fleet Department manages over 900 vehicles and pieces of equipment. The Supply Chain intern participates in a variety of tasks related to all three areas.
Responsibilities

- Continuous improvement initiatives, particularly as they relate to process efficiencies
Qualifications

- Must be a full-time student currently enrolled in an accredited university or college,
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business Logistics, Business Administration, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or other relevant fields of study,
- Have a sophomore classification or above,
- Be in good academic standing,
- Be able to commit to 15-29 hours per week to the program (year-round interns),
- Previous work experience is preferred,
- Be able to commute to PGW’s North Operations Center (5000 Summerdale Avenue, 19124),
- Be in good academic standing,
- Strong interpersonal skills,
- Self-directed and willing to take initiative,
- Open to feedback.
Technical Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills, especially technical writing
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent Skills in MS Office, especially MS Excel
