Job Description

As a Security Guard Unarmed Patrol Access Control in Christiansburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and alarm response activities. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally, and use technology to document activities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel at a manufacturing and industrial location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, office spaces, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter, reporting unusual conditions and potential hazards.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized personnel in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Complete required activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Preferred ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Preferred comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Preferred customer service experience.
• Preferred alarm panel experience.
• Preferred access control and badge experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
