Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, material handling, shipping, and warehouse personnel. This position ensures materials are received, stored, and distributed accurately and efficiently to support production requirements and customer deliveries. The Warehouse Supervisor leads warehouse employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, material movement, and order fulfillment.
Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse employees to meet safety, quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, inventory controls, and discrepancy resolution.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
Coordinate material flow and collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Customer Service to support operational goals.
Manage staffing, scheduling, and warehouse performance, including inventory accuracy, productivity, and space utilization to ensure efficient operations and on-time deliveries.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize warehouse processes.
Support employee performance management, including training, coaching, recognition and corrective action.
Ensure warehouse employees maintain required certifications and follow safe operating practices.
Qualifications
Education
High School Graduate or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
3-7 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Experience with inventory management systems, ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred), and warehouse operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of warehouse operation, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Ability to analyze inventory and operational data to support decision-making.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment and is exposed to the temperature changes. This will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around machines. A portion of this role will be performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
