Description
Our client a coal mining operation based in Mookane, Botswana, is seeking to appoint an experienced Plant Foreman to join their operations team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of plant operations, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and equipment performance are consistently met. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to make a meaningful impact within a growing operation.
Key Requirements
- 3–5 years' experience as a Plant Foreman within a mining environment
- Experience in a start-up or newly established mine operation strongly preferred
- Sound knowledge of plant processes, equipment, and maintenance requirements
- Strong understanding of mine health and safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and manage shift teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Relevant technical/trade qualification (mining, mechanical, or related field) advantageous
- Valid driver's licence
- Required to work shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily plant operations and shift teams to meet production targets
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and troubleshoot operational issues
- Monitor plant performance and report on production, downtime, and efficiency
- Mentor and manage plant personnel, ensuring discipline and productivity standards are upheld
- Liaise with management on operational planning and improvements
