Environmental Services Lead Supervisor – Greensburg Area

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM – 12:30 AM
Shift: 8 hours
Location: Greensburg Area – In Person
Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Description:

Safari Contract Cleaners has proudly provided professional commercial cleaning services for over 50 years, serving businesses and healthcare facilities throughout 12 counties.

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Commercial Cleaning Lead Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations across multiple assigned locations in the Greensburg area.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining employee supervision and training, quality assurance, customer service, staffing support, and cleaning responsibilities. The Lead Supervisor will work closely with Safari Management, cleaning employees, and customer contacts to ensure all assigned locations consistently meet Safari's cleaning standards and customer expectations.

Compensation is based on the selected candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision, Training & Employee Support

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and support to cleaning employees across assigned locations.

  • Provide initial training to newly hired hourly employees and supervisors.

  • Provide follow-up training, coaching, and retraining as needed.

  • Clearly communicate job responsibilities, cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and performance expectations.

  • Monitor employee performance and address cleaning or quality concerns as they arise.

  • Assist new hires and current employees with onboarding and operational needs, including badges, building access, onboarding materials, and other account-specific requirements.

  • Hold employees accountable for meeting Safari's cleaning, attendance, safety, and performance expectations.

  • Serve as a resource for employees when questions, concerns, or operational issues arise.

Quality Assurance & Account Oversight:

  • Conduct weekly site visits at all assigned accounts and complete required site visit documentation.

  • Submit completed site visit documentation in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all cleaning duties are completed according to Safari standards and customer specifications.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout assigned locations.

  • Ensure regulated waste and materials are handled according to applicable procedures and facility guidelines.

  • Complete required documentation and communicate the status of assigned tasks and account needs.

  • Manage account supplies, including ordering, inventory, restocking, and monitoring supply levels.

  • Ensure cleaning responsibilities are completed efficiently and within Safari's established labor and time budgets.

  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the cleaning requirements, schedules, procedures, equipment, and expectations for each assigned location.

Customer & Management Relations:

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Safari Management, employees, and customer contacts.

  • Maintain regular communication with Safari Management regarding call-offs, staffing concerns, employee issues, customer needs, and account updates.

  • Serve as a liaison between onsite employees, customer contacts, and Safari Management.

  • Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Conduct quarterly check-ins with customer contacts at assigned accounts.

  • Complete additional customer visits and account walkthroughs as needed.

  • Communicate security, building access, maintenance, and other facility-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.

  • Monitor assigned accounts for potential project work needs and communicate identified opportunities to Safari Management, including carpet cleaning and hard floor care.

Hands-On Cleaning & Staffing Support:

This is a hands-on supervisory position. The Lead Supervisor must be willing and able to perform cleaning duties in addition to supervisory responsibilities.

  • Perform cleaning duties at assigned locations as needed.

  • Rotate between multiple assigned locations to support staffing and operational needs.

  • Assist with coverage during staffing shortages, employee absences, call-offs, and periods of high PTO usage.

  • Work alongside employees when additional support is needed to complete account responsibilities.

  • Maintain personal cleaning performance in accordance with Safari's established cleaning standards and customer expectations.

  • Lead by example through reliability, professionalism, attention to detail, and adherence to Safari's cleaning and safety standards.

  • Perform additional cleaning, supervisory, or account-related duties as assigned.

The Environmental Services Lead Supervisor is expected to:

  • Demonstrate sound judgment and appropriately escalate concerns to Safari Management when necessary.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee and customer matters.

  • Take ownership of the overall quality and day-to-day operation of assigned accounts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience.

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial or healthcare cleaning experience.

  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures, equipment, products, and safety practices.

  • Knowledge of infection-control and sanitation practices preferred.

  • Ability to train, coach, supervise, and provide direction to employees.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations, employees, and priorities.

  • Dependable, professional, and able to respond appropriately to staffing and operational needs.

  • Ability to manage account supplies and inventory independently.

  • Ability to commute reliably to assigned locations throughout the Greensburg area.
