Description
About Draftable
Draftable is building the next generation of document drafting tools for lawyers. We're part of Affinda Group, a founder-led global AI company based in Melbourne, Australia.
Since launching our first legal product in 2023, over 1,300 law firms and legal teams globally have adopted our product, including leading firms like Allens, Mallesons and DLA Piper. We're growing ARR at well over 100% year-on-year, with very high win rates against incumbents and negligible churn. Our flagship document comparison product already exceeds incumbent tools, and it's just the foundation for a broader product suite we're actively building (our second legal-focused product Draftable Clean launched in March 2026).
Our ambition is to become the leading provider of document drafting solutions for lawyers, and the most loved software in a lawyer's toolkit.
What makes this role compelling
- Own a new product end-to-end: From discovery through build and launch to its first paying customers
Real traction, real distribution: Customers are actively switching to us, we’re winning head-to-head evaluations globally, and retention is best in class – your product launches with an established go-to-market engine behind it
Reimagine how product management works: This isn’t about adopting a few AI tools – you’ll help rearchitect product processes so humans working alongside AI agents define what we build
High trust, real autonomy: A collaborative, customer-centric culture focused on solving real problems, with flexible hybrid working
Grow with the company: Significant career upside as the product organisation scales
Why now
Legal technology is going through a generational shift. Law firms are moving away from aging, bundled platforms in favour of modern, best-of-breed alternatives. Draftable is on the right side of that dynamic. At the same time, AI is fundamentally changing how product teams work: how requirements are written, how software is built, and how fast teams can ship.
For a product manager who wants to own a product end-to-end – and to shape not just what gets built but how product management itself works in an AI-native company – this is a rare moment. Strong market tailwinds, a product customers love, a clear multi-product roadmap, and the chance to build new AI-enabled product processes from the ground up.
The role
We’re looking for an experienced, customer-centric Senior Product Manager to own one of the new products on our legal roadmap end-to-end: discovery and definition, build, launch, and the early go-to-market work that sets a new product up for commercial success.
We’ve learned that a new product succeeds or fails on the foundations laid before and at launch – early customer relationships, positioning, and adoption. You’ll be accountable for your product’s commercial success – its adoption, retention and revenue – though not alone: our established Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams give a new product distribution from day one. You’ll operate with substantial autonomy as one of the most senior product people in the team, and help raise the bar for product craft as we grow.
You will
- Own discovery for a new product: speak with customers to understand their problems deeply, define and validate the product, write PRDs and build prototypes with AI.
Lay the go-to-market foundations for launch: recruit early customers and design partners, shape positioning, and own the launch – working closely with our established Sales and Marketing teams.
Work with engineers day-to-day to define and deliver the roadmap, owning prioritisation and acceptance testing prior to release.
Drive post-launch growth: join customer feedback calls, analyse HubSpot pipelines, pre-sales support trends, product testing feedback and product analytics data on adoption & retention to prioritise improvements and new bets.
Do the hands-on work too – we’re a lean team: translate customer feedback into tickets, write release notes, produce product marketing assets (demo videos, objection handling guides, etc.) and train Sales and Customer Success roles.
Co-design AI-native product processes – structuring product definition so AI coding agents (not just human engineers) can build from it – using Cursor, Claude Cowork, Miro, Lovable, and custom internal tools.
What you will bring
Essential
- Minimum 7 years in product management
Experience in taking a new product from zero to launch and first customers – you know what has to be true before launch for a product to land commercially
Experience in B2B SaaS, ideally with an understanding of the legal industry
Strong product judgment and taste – able to discern good from bad ideas, designs, and trade-offs (ideally grounded in product design experience) – with a track record working with engineers to deliver on roadmaps
Product marketing chops – able to produce assets yourself (videos, presentations, one-pagers), ideally in support of outbound sales
Active use of AI tools in your product work (including agentic tools like Claude Code, Cursor or Codex), with a view on how AI changes product management
Comfort operating with high autonomy in a growth-stage start-up
A data-driven approach to problem-solving, balancing technical, commercial, and user considerations
Excellent communication, able to distil complexity into clarity for different stakeholders to reach alignment
Nice to have
Experience in legal technology or selling to law firms and professional services organisations
Product design education or hands-on design experience
Experience in challenger brands taking market share from larger incumbents
Location & travel
Melbourne-based hybrid role with office in Cremorne (next to the CBD).
Flexible working arrangements with regular in-person collaboration, and periodic travel for customer meetings, conferences, and events
Compensation
AUD $160,000 - $190,000 (inclusive of super), based on experience.
