Description

Built's Mission: Connect and simplify doing business in real estate.

Built is the AI-powered platform transforming the way real estate is financed, developed, and managed. Purpose-built for real estate and construction, Built began by fixing construction draw management for lenders and has grown into a comprehensive operating system addressing some of the industry’s most complex challenges. Today, Built is a partner to more than 350 lenders, over 80,000 borrowers and owners, and thousands of contractors, powering 86,000 active projects valued at more than $300 billion. About The Role

Built Technologies is the AI-first platform for construction and real estate finance, managing over $300 billion in annual capital for more than 340 lenders — including 45 of the top 100 U.S. banks. Built's Marketplace connects the capital that funds construction with the services that get projects built — inspection firms, appraisers, environmental consultants, title and closing providers, materials suppliers, and specialty diligence vendors — creating a single embedded layer where lenders, owners, and general contractors can procure, manage, and pay for project services without leaving the platform.

This role is responsible for growing and strengthening the supply side of Built's vendor network. Most of Built's vendor relationships today have grown inbound and passively, through lender referrals, rather than through a deliberate program. This role changes that: going outbound to existing and prospective vendor partners, building the commercial frameworks that make those relationships pay off for both sides, and negotiating and closing the deals directly.

The core of this role today is supply-side partnerships — diligence and procurement categories such as inspections, appraisal, environmental, and title/closing to start, followed by labor & materials procurement — supply chain and trade partnerships that enable GCs, owners, and developers to source and purchase through Built-facilitated channels. Beyond that core, there are two directions the role could grow into over time, if the supply-side work proves out and the business need materializes:

  • Demand-side & channel partnerships — referral, reseller, and co-sell relationships that extend Built's reach into new customer segments and adjacencies.
  • Data & technology partnerships —integrations with third-party platforms, data providers, and technology vendors that expand the Marketplace's value to end users.

This is a 1-to-N role. You are building the partnership function, the playbook, and the pipeline from scratch — not inheriting a mature program. You will define the ideal partner profile for each category, build the commercial frameworks (revenue share, referral fees, SaaS bundles, procurement margin), negotiate and close the first cohort of partnerships, and design the operating model that lets the network scale without scaling headcount linearly. What You'll Do

Design the Partnership Operating Model

  • Build the end-to-end partner lifecycle: sourcing, qualification, contracting, onboarding, performance management, and renewal/expansion.
  • Define partner tiers, SLAs, and quality standards that let Built guarantee service levels to lender, owner, and GC customers.
  • Create the operational infrastructure — onboarding playbooks, performance tracking, escalation paths — needed to run a growing vendor network without scaling headcount linearly.

Grow and Strengthen the Supply-Side Network

  • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and close partnerships with inspection firms, appraisal companies, title and closing providers, environmental consultants, and other diligence vendors that serve lenders and owners.
  • Run a systematic outbound program across Built's existing vendor network where you’ve identified opportunities for improvement and/or service or pricing irregularities.
  • Continuously identify, evaluate, and prioritize the next wave of service categories to bring into the Marketplace catalog. Use a structured framework — e.g., segmenting services by how frequently they're ordered and how standardized their pricing is — to decide where a partnerships-led, negotiated approach beats a simple self-service vendor-onboarding motion.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Boundaries

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to develop partnership agreement templates and vendor qualification criteria appropriate to financial services.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to define the platform capabilities a scaled vendor network needs — partner APIs, marketplace UX, order management.

What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in supply-side partnerships, vendor management, procurement, or business development — ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, construction technology, or real estate services.
  • Proven track record of building a partnership program or vendor network from scratch (0-to-1), not just managing an existing book of partners.
  • Deep understanding of marketplace or platform economics — two-sided network effects, take rates, procurement margin, and partner unit economics.
  • Experience negotiating and structuring commercial agreements: negotiated rates, volume-based pricing, referral fees, and RFP-driven bespoke pricing.
  • Strong operational instincts — you build the process, the playbook, and the systems alongside the relationships.
  • Ability to context-switch fluidly between strategic planning, commercial negotiation, and hands-on operational execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence executives and align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfort with data and analytics — you can size a partner opportunity, model the economics, and defend the numbers.

What Success Looks Like at Six Months

  • You have defined the partnership strategy and ideal partner profiles for all of Built’s existing service offerings, with a prioritized pipeline of target partners.
  • A repeatable partnership operating model is in place — contracting templates, onboarding playbooks, SLA frameworks, and performance tracking — ready to scale beyond the initial cohort.
  • You have closed and onboarded the first cohort of vendor or channel partners, with at least one category generating live transactions on the Built platform.
  • You have a prioritized, evidence-based roadmap for the next wave of supply-side categories (environmental and beyond), including your recommended sequencing and rationale.

AI & Technology Expectations

  • Leverage AI tools to enhance the productivity, quality, and speed of your work.
  • Use AI to support drafting, analysis, summarization, and problem-solving across your role.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort through automation and AI.
  • Apply AI to sharpen decision-making and strengthen strategic insights.
  • Share effective AI use cases and best practices with your team.
