About the team:
As part of our Point Solutions Group (PSG) team, you’ll join ClearanceJobs’ engineering services division, delivering specialized engineering and technical support to U.S. Government and prime contractor customers. Our work spans systems engineering, RF and EW engineering, test and evaluation, integration, software, and mission support across the Department of War and the Intelligence Community. You’ll partner closely with Business Development, Recruiting, Finance, and Executive Leadership to keep federal contracts performing and growing.
About the role:
As an Engagement Manager, you’ll own the operational, financial, and delivery success of a portfolio of federal government contracts, serving as the primary relationship manager for your customers while leading employee performance and driving profitable growth.
Why we’re hiring for this role:
This role is a growth engine for PSG: you’ll own the health of every customer engagement, from your team’s success and contract profitability to delivery excellence and identifying where PSG can expand its footprint across federal programs.
Once hired, you will:
- Step into your assigned portfolio of federal contracts as the primary point of contact for customers and prime contractor stakeholders, building trusted relationships with program and contract managers
- Get a clear picture of each program’s financial health, including budgets, burn rate, EAC, and labor utilization, partnering with Finance to validate invoices and resolve open issues
- Meet with your team through regular one-on-ones to understand performance, career goals, and any employee relations issues that need attention
- Review contract deliverables and program documentation to flag delivery risks early and confirm compliance requirements are on track
As you progress in the role, you will:
- Lead regular program and business reviews with customers, identifying expansion opportunities such as new task orders, contract modifications, or additional labor categories
- Drive gross margin improvement and revenue forecasting across your portfolio, partnering with Finance on monthly business reviews
- Coach and develop your team, owning performance management and retention across assigned programs
- Partner with Business Development and Sales on capture strategies and proposal support to convert organic opportunities into new revenue
- Build the operational processes, resource plans, and lessons-learned practices that keep contract execution running smoothly
What you bring to the team:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus five or more years managing federal government contracts or programs
- Experience supporting the Department of War, Intelligence Community, or other federal agencies
- A track record managing customer relationships and contract financial performance in government contracting
- Experience managing employee performance, career development, and cross-functional teams
Preferred:
- Experience with cost-plus, time and materials, and firm fixed price contracts in DCAA-compliant environments
- Familiarity with CLIN management, purchase orders, contract funding, and period of performance tracking
- Background in earned value or estimate-at-completion analysis and budget forecasting
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and ERP or timekeeping platforms such as Harvest, NetSuite, or Deltek
