About the location:

A secluded oasis at the edge of an idyllic lagoon! On the east coast of Mauritius, lapped by turquoise waters perfect for water sports, our relaxing Resort is filled with lush greenery and dramatic views everywhere you turn. Each stylish villa and residence feature its own private garden and pool – just like the home for the Resort’s resident giant tortoises. After a day exploring the Indian Ocean or playing unlimited golf at both our Ernie Els-designed course and Bernhard Langer signature course, unwind at our award-winning Spa and raise a glass at one of our exciting dining venues. Mauritius is teeming with opportunities for your next day’s adventures. This beautiful resort opened in October 2008, and has 90 one-bedroom villas, 1 Presidential Suite, 45 two-to-five-bedroom residential villas, 5 stunning Food and Beverage venues in addition to managing an off-property beach bar/restaurant, an award-winning over water Spa, 2 tennis courts and a fitness center.

General Responsibilities

  • Support the Residences team in day-to-day administrative and operational activities.
  • Assist supervisors and team members in executing daily operational requirements.
  • Participate actively in training sessions and learning opportunities provided by the department.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude while interacting with colleagues, homeowners, guests, and contractors.
  • Provide feedback and observations to supervisors regarding operational improvements and guest satisfaction.
  • Display warmth, care, and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with homeowners, guests, and internal customers, while embracing the Golden Rule.
  • Adhere to the Resort's Code of Conduct, grooming standards, and hygiene policies.
  • Assist colleagues during busy periods and support departmental operations as required.
  • Attend departmental briefings and meetings to gain operational knowledge and understanding.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Support the team in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards within residential areas when required.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Departmental Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing exceptional service to Residence Owners and their guests.
  • Support the team in welcoming owners and guests upon arrival and departure.
  • Assist with pre-arrival preparations, including arranging guest requests, amenities, and transportation details.
  • Learn and maintain awareness of homeowner preferences to support personalized service delivery.
  • Coordinate with Concierge, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure residences are prepared and well maintained.
  • Assist in monitoring residence readiness and reporting maintenance or service issues.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing, document management, and record keeping.
  • Help maintain accurate residential records, inventories, checklists, and follow-up logs.
  • Assist in updating homeowner profiles and relevant information in Golden Home or other designated systems.
  • Support the processing and tracking of departmental purchase requests and purchase orders when assigned.
  • Assist with coordinating authorized vendor and contractor visits under the guidance of the Residence Manager.
  • Help maintain records of contractor access, service schedules, and completed work.
  • Ensure departmental information, local attraction details, and resident reference materials remain organized and updated.
  • Develop knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, transportation services, and recreational activities to support resident inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and professionalism concerning homeowners and guests at all times.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, homeowners, and guests.
  • Be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts based on operational requirements and learning opportunities.

Learning Objectives

During the internship, the candidate will gain exposure to:

  • Interdepartmental coordination within a luxury resort environment.
  • Residential property maintenance and service scheduling.
  • Hospitality systems, reports, and documentation processes.

Special Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous hospitality experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; French language skills are an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information discreetly.
