Role Overview:
Software developer with a degree in computer science/engineering or related field
* with experience in developing data platforms with advanced business intelligence, analytics features.
* with proven ability in designing robust, scalable microservice architecture-based applications focused on [ideally scientific] data analysis and management workflows
* with strong, firsthand technical expertise in implementing scalable, robust, AWS cloud hosted/cloud native client-server applications
* with technical expertise in integrating algorithms, scientific workflows, machine learning tools developed by computational and/or quantitative data scientists
* with experience in API (REST, GraphQL) driven modular development and the integration of in-house developed and 3rd party vendor platforms
* with expertise in developing, scheduling and executing resource intensive jobs on a high-performance compute environment (local data center or cloud)
* who is familiar with standard software development and DevOPs practices
* who is able to function, communicate and collaborate effectively in a highly multi-disciplinary environment
Required Skills
* 3+ years’ experience backend, middle-layer development using Python or Java/Spring framework
* 3+ years with AWS services (EC2/RDS/S3/Batch)
* 2+ years’ experience implementing data analysis and processing (ETL) workflows (using Python, Java/Spring, or equivalent ETL framerwork)
* 3+ years’ experience implementing, optimizing, normalizing data models/schemas using relational (POstgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and non-relational database vendors (Elastic Search, etc..)
Would be nice skills
Secondary skills:
* 3+ years’ experience of web/frontend development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS/Sass, React JS (or equivalent, such as Angular 4+)
* familiarity with DevOPs practices Jenkins, Docker, Solar, Stash, JIRA, Confluence
