About the Team
The Data Loss Prevention Monitoring team is responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to potential data leakage incidents across enterprise environments. The team leverages advanced DLP technologies, analytics, and monitoring capabilities to safeguard sensitive information, support regulatory compliance requirements, and reduce organizational risk.
Impact
This role contributes directly to protecting corporate, customer, and employee data by identifying and investigating potential policy violations and data security events. The analyst will monitor DLP alerts, perform initial investigations, support incident response activities, and help strengthen data protection controls. Through diligent monitoring and analysis, the role ensures timely detection and mitigation of data security risks while enabling secure business operations.
Key Deliverables
• Monitor Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts and incidents across endpoints, email, cloud applications, and collaboration platforms.
• Investigate DLP policy violations and suspicious user activities to determine potential risk and business impact.
• Perform triage, validation, categorization, and escalation of DLP incidents according to established procedures and service-level agreements.
• Analyze alerts generated from DLP, Insider Risk Management, CASB, Email Security, and related security solutions.
• Document investigation findings and maintain accurate incident records for audit and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, managers, and security teams to validate legitimate business activities and resolve false positives.
• Assist in the implementation, tuning, and optimization of DLP policies and monitoring rules to improve detection accuracy.
• Support investigations involving data exfiltration, unauthorized sharing, removable media usage, and sensitive data handling violations.
• Monitor data protection controls across Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, endpoints, and enterprise applications.
• Escalate potential insider threats, compliance violations, or security incidents to senior analysts and incident response teams.
• Participate in periodic reviews of DLP policies, classifications, and alert effectiveness.
• Contribute to awareness initiatives by identifying common data security risks and policy gaps.
• Maintain operational dashboards, metrics, and reports related to DLP monitoring activities.
• Follow security policies, operational procedures, and compliance requirements related to data protection and privacy.
Skills and Qualification
Functional Skills
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, information protection, and data security principles.
• Ability to investigate alerts and identify suspicious user behaviors or policy violations.

Technical/Business Skills
• 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, IT support, risk management, or related domains.
• Understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) concepts and information protection controls.
• Exposure to security monitoring platforms, SIEM solutions, and security incident management processes.
• Understanding of sensitive information types, data classification, and data handling requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and enterprise collaboration platforms.
• Knowledge of incident management and ticketing tools is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of endpoint security, identity management, and access control principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and security reporting.
Relationships & Collaboration
• Collaborates closely with DLP Operations, Insider Risk Management, and Incident Response teams.
• Works with business stakeholders to validate alert context and support investigation activities.
• Partners with Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management, and Legal teams when required.
• Coordinates with IT and endpoint management teams to support remediation efforts.
• Engages with technology vendors and platform teams to support tool enhancements and operational effectiveness.
• Builds strong cross-functional relationships to improve the organization's data protection posture.
