The incumbent will support the MRM Market Risk Manager by overseeing risk strategies and initiatives to enhance existing methodologies and governance processes. This role includes enhancing the current communications strategy of the department and interacting with Bank senior management, auditors and regulatory agencies. The incumbent will also will be responsible for conducting analyses of price risk in the Bank's various businesses (including potential income statement/balance sheet impacts) as the department continues to develop an enterprise-wide approach to market risk. This self-directed role will provide the incumbent with an opportunity to develop managerially and quantitatively as they will play a key role working with quantitative and reporting staff to continually refine the Bank's market risk practices. Major Responsibilities: Play key role in the daily management of Market Risk Management's (MRM) daily risk reporting and monitoring function, key projects and initiatives, including systems implementations; requires working closely with internal business partners as well as external risk management partners, e.g. BTMU-NY and BTMU-Tokyo. 60% Learn the department's risk and independent valuation analytics to serve as a backup and refine current processes. 10% Support financial disclosure processes for MRM and compliance oversight of all applicable regulatory guidelines (current and forthcoming - e.g. Basel II). 15% Assist MRM as a market risk liaison on Policy, governance and reporting issues with the Corporate Risk Management Division of the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi. Ltd., the Bank's parent company. 15% Attention to detail and critical thinking Strong verbal and written communication skills will be required to build & maintain good rapport with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work under time pressure to support product and systems development relating to complex financial instruments and risk measurements. Ability to work independently with limited supervision, as necessary Exposure to various trading products (bonds, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, futures, options, credit-default swaps, interest rate swaps, etc.). General knowledge of financial markets, accounting and valuation techniques is a plus. General project management skills are required. Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner is required. 2-4 years of experience in banking and/or capital markets Typically requires a minimum BS/BA with a focus in Finance, Economics, etc. MBA/MS is a plus.Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is an equal opportunity employer.
