POSITION: Production House Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Center for Media Innovation
REPORTS TO: Director, Center for Media Innovation
WORK SCHEDULE: Fully on campus
PRIMARY FUNCTION
This employee helps run the CMI Production House, including oversight of the CMI's technology and studios, service management of external and internal clients, development of budgets, and supervision of student workers. The Production House serves commercial clients directly while also providing production expertise and technical support for community partnership projects coordinated through the Center for Civic & Community Engagement and the School of Communication.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of media equipment such as cameras, audio soundboards, video production boards, video chat interfaces, etc.;

Excellent production abilities for creating high-quality podcasts, videos and other electronic content;

Ability to identify and develop a team of student workers and lead group training sessions;

Ability to develop new production opportunities, cultivate professional relationships, and deliver exceptional client service.;

Organizational skills for maintaining equipment, schedules, contracts and billing, and overseeing the use of diverse spaces by tenants, members of the University and external clients;

Ability to set and maintain budget oversight for revenues and expenses with positive cash flow.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the CMI Production House
- Technical expertise. Work with University staff to maintain CMI technology, equipment, and studio spaces. (25%)
- Team building. Supervise student production assistants assigned to the Production House and provide technical training, mentorship, and production oversight for students participating in CMI-supported projects. (20%)
- Project Management. Coordinate production timelines, client communication, scheduling, budgets, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and meet professional quality standards. (20%)
- Client management. Ability to solicit and maintain relationships with commercial and internal university clients. Collaborate with the Center for Civic & Community Engagement and academic units to provide professional production services for community-engaged projects. Coordinate production services from project planning through final delivery. (15%)
- Financial oversight. Develop and maintain budgets for the Production House so that the operation maintains positive cash flow with funding from external clients and accountability to internal ones. (10%)
- University collaboration. Collaborate with the Center for Civic & Community Engagement, the School of Communication, and other academic units to support experiential learning, interdisciplinary projects, and community-engaged media production. Develop partnerships that expand opportunities for students while advancing the mission of the Production House. (10%)
- Other related duties as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires repetitive lifting of light weight objects with frequent bending and stooping, or repetitively lift average weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities. Occasionally lifts heavy objects (over 50 lbs.)
