About the role:

The EH&S Manager will lead the implementation of Carrier's EH&S Operating System (EHSOS) across Gurgaon Factory and Engineering operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, Carrier EH&S requirements, and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.

The role will work closely with factory leadership, supervisors, employees and contractors to strengthen EH&S culture, drive EHSOS implementation, improve risk management, ensure compliance excellence and support continuous improvement. The position will also serve as the primary interface with government authorities, industry forums and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead implementation and continual improvement of the EH&S Operating System (EHSOS).
• Partner closely with factory leadership, engineering teams, supervisors and employees to drive EH&S ownership, engagement and EHSOS maturity.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Environment, Health & Safety legislation and Carrier standards.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities including Pollution Control Board, Factory Inspectorate, Fire Department and other government agencies.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, permits, statutory submissions and compliance reporting.
• Lead ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management systems, audits and management reviews.
• Drive risk assessment, Management of Change (MOC) and critical risk control programs.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action management.
• Develop EH&S procedures, training programs, safe work instructions and risk assessments.
• Monitor EH&S performance and provide regular reports to leadership.
• Promote EH&S culture through leadership engagement, employee participation and contractor management.
• Represent Carrier in external forums such as CII, NSC and other professional EH&S platforms.
• Support environmental compliance, sustainability, energy conservation and resource efficiency initiatives.
• Lead environmental compliance programs including air, water, waste, hazardous waste management and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements 

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial or Safety preferred).
• Diploma/Post Graduate Qualification in Industrial Safety preferred.
• NEBOSH, ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certification preferred.
• 8–12 years of EH&S experience in manufacturing, engineering or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of Indian EH&S regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
• Experience engaging with regulatory authorities, industry associations and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
