For us, better backpacking starts with gear that strikes the optimal balance of weight, durability and water resistance.We are looking for a Production Associate to join our small Sleeping Bag production team in Biddeford, Maine. You’ll play a critical role in getting our gear into the hands of customers who count on it — with the accuracy, care, and attention to detail that protect both the customer experience and the brand.This position reports to our Maine Purchasing and Operation Manager and will be responsible for laser cutting sleeping bag and backcountry quilt fabrics that are shipped to our Mexico production factory for assembly and then filling them with down using our Down Filling Machine upon their return back to Maine. Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment OperationSetup, load, and operate Laser Cutting MachineOrganize and manage machine output and prepare shipments for our Mexico factorySetup, load, and operate our Down Filling MachineQuality Assurance & Inventory ManagementInspect raw materials and cut quality to ensure they meet our exact manufacturing specificationsManage shelved sleeping bag raw material fabrics and inventories of cut components Operate and fill assembled sleeping bag and backcountry quilts with down to meet our exact manufacturing specificationsManage inventory of shelved/boxed and in-process downGeneral & Safety ComplianceAdhere to all Company health and safety guidelines while maintaining a clean, hazard-free workspace Required Skills and QualificationsStrong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracyAbility to learn new tools and processes quicklyBasic computer skills — comfort with automated machine operationSelf-motivated, problem-solving mindsetPositive attitude and team playerAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for long periodsFlexibility to occasionally pitch-in with other company needsPreferred SkillsExperience with machine operationExperience in production environmentsAbility to achieve goals efficiently and effectively without constant supervisionWhat’s in it for you?Besides working for the leader in ultralight outdoor gear, with solid growth and a team of smart, motivated, and collaborative associates, you get:Competitive compensation packageHealth & Dental InsuranceDeep discounts on all gearFlexibilityInterested?We hope so!Submit an application and we’ll be in touch.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe created Hyperlite Mountain Gear with a commitment to providing jobs and career paths in Maine.
