Salary: £600–£700 per day
Location: Teesside (Site-Based)
Contract: Long-Term Contract
The Opportunity
Are you an experienced EHV Commissioning Manager/ Lead EHV Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in 275kV or 400kV transmission projects?
We're seeking a hands-on technical leader to take ownership of the end-to-end commissioning of a major UK energy infrastructure project. You'll be responsible for commissioning strategy, planning, testing, energisation and final handover, working closely with National Grid, principal contractors and specialist testing providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning of a 275kV XLPE cable system from planning through to energisation.
- Develop and manage commissioning strategies, programmes and readiness plans.
- Lead commissioning tests, evaluate results and resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate interfaces with National Grid, OEMs, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Produce and review ITPs, commissioning procedures, SAT documentation and handover packs.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered safely and in line with project and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience commissioning 275kV and/or 400kV transmission projects.
- Previous experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager.
- Strong knowledge of EHV cable systems, joints, terminations, bonding and earthing.
- Experience with National Grid commissioning, outage and energisation processes.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex commissioning activities.
- TP141, SAP or equivalent transmission authorisations are highly desirable.
