The Job:
As a Manufacturing Intern, you’ll be part of our Mission team working as an on-site employee. Our paid internship program typically runs 10 to 12 weeks and offers valuable insight into the manufacturing environment, with potential pathways to future full-time career opportunities at Stanley Black & Decker.
You’ll get the Opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experience with a leading manufacturer of power tools.
Engineering:
- Learn from experienced engineers by observing day-to-day manufacturing processes, equipment, and facility systems.
- Assist with basic engineering calculations, data collection, and analysis to support plant operations and improvement projects.
- Help support troubleshooting activities for mechanical systems, manufacturing equipment, and facility utilities.
- Assist with preparing and updating inventory reports and related data.
- Support the creation and revision of work instructions and standard procedures.
- Provide support on the shop floor, including collecting samples and helping monitor production runs.
- Help request and track resins and other materials needed for production.
- Assist with updating and maintaining production run information.
- Help verify material usage on the shop floor to support accurate inventory records.
- Organize and maintain department documents and records.
The Person:

- Applicants must be enrolled in a four-year college or university and pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Junior or Senior standing required.
- Interest in manufacturing and/or engineering areas.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Must be available to work part-time or full-time during a Mon-Fri 8am-4pm schedule.
