We are Lennar

A Career that Empowers You to Build Your Future
This is more than an opportunity to review documents and research case law. As Legal Counsel – Litigation, you will be close to the business and on the front lines of legal matters impacting Lennar’s divisions every day. You will partner directly with divisional leaders and internal business teams to evaluate claims, resolve disputes, manage risk, and address legal issues before they escalate. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of matters, develop your legal judgment, appear in court when appropriate, and learn how an in-house legal team balances legal risk with real-world business objectives.
You will work closely with experienced Assistant General Counsels, senior attorneys, paralegals, Risk, and divisional stakeholders. As your experience grows, so will the complexity and ownership of the matters you handle.
For an attorney early in their career, this is an opportunity to build broad, practical litigation experience from inside the business—with exposure to the people, decisions, and issues that drive a large public company.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
  • Provide business partnership, integrating legal expertise with corporate strategy.
  • Embrace legal tech, AI-driven tools, cybersecurity, and data privacy strategies.
  • Draft, review, and support execution of standard agreements and legal documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established legal templates, policies, and approval frameworks.
  • Drive litigation, investigations, regulatory filings, and compliance activities, assisting with fact gathering, document preparation, discovery support, and coordination with internal stakeholders and outside counsel under senior attorney guidance.
  • Perform legal research, issue analysis, and due‑diligence activities, preparing clear memoranda, summaries, and recommendations for review by senior attorneys and legal leadership.
  • Maintain accurate and well‑organized matter documentation and records, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal record‑keeping requirements.
  • Identify, flag, and escalate complex, novel, or high‑risk issues to senior attorneys in a timely manner, contributing to risk awareness and appropriate decision‑making.
  • Partner with business teams on routine legal questions and matters, providing responsive, professional support while reinforcing established legal processes and controls.
  • Develop legal judgment and technical skills through hands‑on experience, feedback, and mentorship, progressively increasing responsibility and complexity of work handled.
  • Drive team efficiency and continuous improvement, supporting updates to templates, checklists, playbooks, and knowledge resources as directed.
Your Toolbox
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
  • 0–5+ years of legal experience with a strong litigation background.
  • Experience in insurance defense, construction defect, bodily injury, real estate litigation, or a related practice area is strongly preferred.
  • Experience handling claims, disputes, demands, or smaller matters independently is highly valued.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to translate legal analysis into practical business recommendations.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and collaborating across functions.
