Packout Technician/Restoration Moving & Packing

Responsible for the careful packing, handling, inventory, transport, and organization of customer belongings from properties affected by water, fire, mold, or storm damage. This role requires attention to detail and care when handling personal property, furniture, electronics, and household contents.

Key Responsibilities

Contents Handling & Inventory

• Digital Inventory: Create detailed inventories of customer belongings by photographing, documenting, labeling, and tagging items using digital tracking systems or specialized software.
• Packing & Wrapping: Safely pack and protect contents using professional materials including bubble wrap, shrink wrap, packing paper, boxes, crates, and protective coverings.
• Item Assessment: Identify, document, and separate damaged, contaminated, or potentially non-salvageable items for review and insurance documentation.
• Furniture Disassembly: Disassemble furniture, electronics, appliances, and other large items when necessary for safe handling and transportation.
• Loading & Transport: Carefully load, secure, transport, and unload customer belongings while minimizing the risk of additional damage.
• Contents Organization: Maintain organized labeling and tracking of items throughout the packing, storage, cleaning, and return process.
• Protection of Property: Protect floors, walls, doorways, and other undamaged areas while moving contents in and out of the property.
• Cleaning & Handling: Assist with cleaning, deodorizing, or other contents-restoration activities as directed.
• Pack-Back Services: Return and carefully place customer belongings after restoration work is completed, including reassembly of furniture and other items when required.
• Customer Service: Maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous approach when working in customers' homes or businesses, often during stressful circumstances.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow company safety procedures, proper lifting techniques, PPE requirements, and established restoration protocols.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move furniture, boxes, equipment, and household contents.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting, bending, standing, walking, and reaching.
• Ability to work in properties that may have experienced water, fire, mold, or storm damage.
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency response assignments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in moving, packing, warehouse, restoration, cleaning, or property services is helpful but not required.
