Creativity unleashed: Plan and lead engaging, interactive programs and activities for children and teens, as well as participate in community outreach events. Experience working with older elementary-age children and teens is a plus.

Community impact: Plan and participate in outreach activities with local schools, organizations, and community members to strengthen the library's role as a visible and valued part of life in Sampson County.

Hands-on library experience: Assist at the circulation desk, help patrons, shelve materials, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the library.

Teamwork that works: Collaborate closely with your co-coordinator to balance schedules, share responsibilities, and make every program a success.
- Bachelor's Degree with coursework in education, library science or another related field supplemented by experience working with children or teens OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience working with children and/or teens, showing you have the skills needed to thrive in this role
- Experience planning or leading programs for young people
- Creativity, energy, and a passion for inspiring children and teens
- Comfort with computers, office technology, and common software applications
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with diverse groups
- A collaborative mindset: the ability to work effectively with a co-coordinator to ensure all programs and responsibilities are covered
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a love for working as part of a team
- Shared schedule averaging 19 hours per week, coordinated with the Library Director and co-coordinator. Thursdays and Fridays will be core workdays each week, with Wednesdays typically included at least two weeks per month. Remaining hours will be scheduled on other days as needed.
- Typical weekday hours end at 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays when those days are scheduled. Some later evening hours are required for special events, typically no later than 9:00 p.m.
- Saturday hours are required as part of the shared schedule, averaging approximately 12 Saturdays per year.
- Flexibility to work at any of the four Sampson-Clinton Public Library branches.
