Intern Pricing and Valuation

Your impact as at NN 

You will be part of the Pricing and Valuation team. The team is part of the Mid Office department within NN Group Finance - Investment Operations. 

 

The department is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of the investment portfolios of the NN Insurance companies in The Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Spain, Poland, Japan and Greece. All activities have to comply with internal (Clients, NN Group) and external (Supervisor) requirements.  

 

Our team is responsible for the sourcing, calculation, validation, and distribution of investment portfolio valuations and market data. This includes asset prices, yield curves used in internal models and stakeholder reporting, as well as key market data such as FX rates, inflation, and reference rates. 

In a rapidly evolving market environment, the team acts as a business partner by analyzing and swiftly implementing new investment strategies, products, and regulatory requirements, such as the IBOR reform. 

Your responsibilities  

As a working student you will: 

  • Participate and support our daily pricing processes; 

  • Contribute to process improvements; 

  • Assist in improving data quality in our data management system and our accounting platform; 

  • Document the processes and key controls used; 

  • Support in the automation of existing processes and introduce innovative solutions. 

Who you are  

  • A last year Bachelor’s or Master’s student about to graduate in Economics, Finance, Investment Analysis or Econometrics from an accredited institution; 

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, particularly fixed income and derivatives; 

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc); 

  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills and attention to details; 

  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in both written and spoken English; 

  • Knowledge of VBA and/or SQL is a plus;.
