The Role

As a Microsoft Purview DLP Specialist at Kyndryl, the professional will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to safeguard sensitive business and customer data across enterprise environments. They will work closely with security, compliance, and infrastructure teams to develop and enforce data protection policies, monitor DLP alerts and incidents, classify and protect sensitive information, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and corporate governance requirements. The role involves securing data across Microsoft 365 workloads, endpoints, cloud applications, and hybrid environments while continuously optimizing DLP controls to reduce data leakage risks and strengthen the organization's overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Purview DLP policies across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Endpoints, and Power Platform.
• Configure and maintain Sensitivity Labels, Data Classification, and Information Protection controls.
• Deploy and manage Endpoint DLP solutions to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
• Implement and optimize Exact Data Match (EDM), Sensitive Information Types (SITs), and Trainable Classifiers.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to DLP alerts, incidents, and policy violations.
• Perform root-cause analysis of data leakage events and recommend corrective actions.
• Fine-tune DLP policies to reduce false positives and improve user experience.
• Support regulatory compliance initiatives, including GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX, and ISO 27001 requirements.
• Automate reporting and administrative tasks using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph APIs, and compliance tools.
• Collaborate with Security, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Business teams to strengthen data protection, governance, and awareness programs.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 5+ Years of experience into Design, implement, and optimize Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to protect sensitive enterprise data.
• Develop and manage data security controls across Microsoft 365, cloud applications, endpoints, and hybrid environments.
• Leverage Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA) to strengthen security posture.
• Support data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance initiatives through effective information protection strategies.
• Utilize Microsoft Graph API to integrate and automate compliance and security workflows where required.
• Collaborate with business, compliance, and security stakeholders to address risks and drive data protection objectives.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

• Apply strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills to independently deliver enterprise compliance and security solutions; SC-400 certification is highly preferred.
