THIS IS A FULLY QUALIFIED SPLICER OPENING IN SPRINGFIELD, MA

 

The salary range for this position starts at $59.19 (Effective 10/01/2026) in accordance with the union contract. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits. Candidates must successfully pass the CAST Test, a UG FQ assessment test and participate and successfully pass the agility assessment.  The candidate must also successfully complete all requirements to be added to the APL for switching and tagging. 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.  The selected candidate must have successfully completed a progression program for Cable Splicers and be a Fully Qualified Splicer.  In addition, the selected candidate must possess a valid motor vehicle license, currently has and maintains a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location for trouble call assignments. 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Individuals will perform any and all work in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the underground and aerial cable systems.

Bargaining unit employees under the WMECO Local 455 contract will be given first consideration. In addition, this position is being posted internally and externally.
