About you and the role:

As the OTR Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the preparation and set up of the National Mobile Campus (NMC) on a part-time basis as well as driving the NMC trailer to and from events nationwide. You will be required to set up and tear down the NMC and assist with maintenance and mechanical issues throughout the duration of each event. 


Compensation:

$45/hour, paid on a weekly basis


Benefits:

401(k) contribution after 90 days of employment; company match after working 1 year of service and have worked at least 1000 hours.


Work Schedule:

  • Part-time as required; frequent travel throughout the United States

What you will do:


Regular Job Duties

  • Safely operate the tractor trailer to and from events within state and city guidelines, following all Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations
  • Service and maintain the truck and trailer for the duration of the trip
  • Assist in cleaning, organizing, and resetting all components in the NMC before and after each event
  • Drive the company vehicle to safely transport company property to events across the country
  • Check vehicles to ensure that all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in proper operating order
  • Follow appropriate state and federal laws for weight and dimension road restrictions
  • Perform and document pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain driver logs of working hours, and submit reports to Fleet Manager
  • Manage transporter emergency situations (e.g., flat tires, mechanical failures, etc.)
  • Report all accidents, traffic violations, and/or damage to vehicles to manager as soon as safely possible
  • Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team during extended road trips
  • Ensure transporter falls within DOT standards for service and compliance
  • Stay within 10 minutes of the truck during deployment events in case of an emergency
  • Provide assistance while on scene of events
  • Other duties as assigned by Fleet Manager

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of over-the-road truck driving experience
  • Commercial driver’s license (Class A with Air Brake)
  • Current DOT Health Certification
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to operating commercial vehicles
  • Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • E-Log or Paper Log Book knowledge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to hand multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to drive execution and results

Physical Requirements:

  • Meet DOT Physical and Screening Requirements
  • Be able to walk 20 minutes a day without exertion
  • Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
  • Lift 40 pounds from your waist to your shoulders
  • Lift 30 pounds from the floor to your head
  • Crouch and squat for pre- and post-trip inspections
  • Push 80 pounds and pull 100 pounds horizontally

Work Environment:


  • Long periods of time away from home, driving long hours, and loading and unloading cargo
