## The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
## This role in summary
They are responsible for utilizing CAD design systems, processes and tools to produce 3D models, assembly and detail drawings, layouts that are dimensionally accurate. Manages assigned tasks within scheduled time constraints.
By leveraging advanced tools like DFM Pro, Creo View, and VR/AR analysis, they support virtual teardowns and geometric studies to identify integration issues early.
## Your responsibilities will include
- Create/ modify Design concepts based on internal / external stakeholder requirements.
- CAD data management using Windchill PDM (Product Data Management ) link.
- Correct representation of GD&T as per required standard (ASME Y14.5-2009 / ISO 1101)
- Comply with Whirlpool design / drafting standards, CAD data management policies and design change process (CN)
- Use of robust CAD modeling practise / methods in Creo parametric
- Use CAD tools (Creo View, DFM Pro, Modelchk, etc) to verify CAD design changes for manufacturing, assembly complying with design/drafting standards
- Ensure expected delivery on Time and maintain Quality
- Support CAD requirements for the cost and quality projects
- Support capability development and Complexity reduction
- Support Model Shop / Lab requests / SBD requests and support in Virtual/ Physical build as applicable
- Perform component level CAD analysis / Geometric studies within subsystem under guidance
## Minimum requirements
Education:
B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 3 to 5 years
Key Deliverables
- Deliver all CAD requirements for assigned projects per project IDP
- Contribute in achieving the cost targets for Cooking
- Support module management and strategic activities in Cooking
- Create/ update CAD models, drawings, assemblies based on the design direction / guidance from the project team.
- Identifies potential problem and take actions to resolve design challenges
- Support concept selection metrics
- Ensure Module management activities are on track by providing CAD support
- Perform basic component/assembly analysis in VR/ AR for Design for assembly, virtual testing etc.
- Support virtual build/ teardown events to identify integration issues early in the design process.
- Support 1D/2D stack-up creation under direct supervision.
## Preferred skills and experiences
- Basic knowledge of common tooling, fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T, Creo, PLM to manage CAD data & design change process
- Ability to work in a global engineering team environment
- Good business communication (written/verbal)
