The Mannes Prep program at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Student Assistant, Mannes Prep. We’re currently looking for responsible, proactive, and kind individual(s) with a musical background to support initiatives within the Mannes Prep Program. This position reports to the Director of Mannes Prep and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in program management, music education, or production.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award. Mannes Prep student assistants will work approximately 4-6 hours per week. Most work occurs at Arnhold Hall on Saturdays in direct support of Mannes Prep programs, students, and families.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Host Mannes Prep student recitals.
Provide front-of-house assistance to Mannes Prep students and families, serving as ushers for Mannes Prep recitals and events.
Assist full-time Mannes Prep staff with the varied Saturday operations of Mannes Prep.
Assist ensemble directors with rehearsal setup, breakdown, and attendance.
Create and keep track of ensemble parts, and work with Ensemble Directors for any new part needs.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong background in the performing arts.
Experience with instrumental music programs.
Experience working in a customer service oriented environment.
Comfortable working with K-12 students and their families.
Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and the transformative power of the arts and education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program.
Federal Work Study award recipient.
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
HOURLY RATE: $17.00
Hours per Week: 4-8 hours per week
