Description
A leading organisation is seeking a Financial Sector Cyber Threat Analyst to support the sharing, integration and analysis of cyber threat intelligence across the financial services environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining an accurate view of the sector’s cyber threat landscape, conducting advanced research and delivering intelligence that supports informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating and maintaining financial sector cyber threat intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
- Collating, analysing and processing cyber threat information received from industry stakeholders.
- Maintaining an accurate financial sector cyber threat landscape and associated cyber risk profile.
- Identifying and engaging key internal and external stakeholders regarding current and emerging cyber threats.
- Defining sector information requirements and aligning intelligence production and research objectives with stakeholder needs.
- Applying appropriate analytical techniques, methodologies and technologies to support cyber threat research.
- Monitoring developments across the broader cyber threat landscape and producing relevant intelligence products.
- Developing regular and specialised cyber threat reports to support industry decision-making.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Security Risk Management or a related field.
- Five to eight years’ experience in intelligence and/or cybersecurity threat analysis within a financial or banking environment.
- A strong track record in stakeholder liaison, collaboration and coordination.
- Specialised training in intelligence analysis and/or risk analysis.
- Strong knowledge of security risk assessment processes and intelligence analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of security technologies, practices and procedures across security disciplines.
- Experience using analytical software tools and electronic database systems.
- Advanced research and computer literacy skills.
- Financial sector exposure, broad information systems knowledge and sector architecture knowledge will be advantageous.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification and cybersecurity-related certifications, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), will also be advantageous.
