Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Environmental Baghouse Technician is a key position for is a key position for maintaining our Baghouse requirements by ensuring that the baghouse is operating within critical parameters defined by our Baghouse permits

 

·   Take/record readings for key operational parameters

·         React to alarm situations

·         Perform visual inspection of key equipment and components

·         Identify performance trends

·         Complete Operational PMs

·         Change air cylinders

·         Replace Rotary Valves

·         Replace slurry pumps

·         Replace bags

·         Wire small motors

·         Perform maintenance PMs

·         Identify and react to baghouse operational performance trends

·         Identify, prioritize, and schedule major outage projects

·         React to upset and non-routine situations

·         Have ability to perform Mechanical and Electrical repairs

·         With a key focus on electrical troubleshooting

·         Develop measures for improved performance

·         CI of baghouse areas (6S, shadow boards, etc.)

·         Assist in troubleshooting and or replacing rotary valves, slurry pumps, filter bags & cages

·         Wiring of small motors and changing of air cylinders

·         Use of SAP is critical to write Work Orders and Purchase Requisitions

• Reliability improvements of all baghouse equipment
• Provide support in the aluminum manufacturing process by working closely with the Operations, Engineering, Administrative, and Process Groups. 
• Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise for equipment and systems problems to maintenance and operations teams
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics will be considered an advantage
• Work with maintenance group to provide technical expertise
• Attend morning area meeting for communication of area needs
• Work with process owners to develop solutions to process issues and perform data collection to determine proper course of action
• Work with project leaders to collect data necessary for proper analysis and determination of issues to target
• Assist in the development of engineering or maintenance procedures and repair work to ensure they are safe, effective and efficient.Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions at all times. 
• Promote EHS policy and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day-to-day operations.

Location Profile

Novelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies. Residents enjoy nearby Lake Oconee which includes several golf communities. In addition Athens Georgia – home to the University of Georgia and hundreds of cultural and sporting events each year – is a short drive away.
