At AES we are looking for an Bay Mechanic

Role description:

The Hydroelectric Mechanic has the responsibility for execute the tasks of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance program, established in the plant maintenance plan and programs, to ensure the proper reliable mechanical functioning of the different systems and equipment of the plant.

Responsabilities:

  • Execute all preventive, corrective maintenance tasks on all the mechanical equipment of the different systems (cooling, auxiliaries, turbine, Generator, Speed governor, among others) for each unit of the plant and thus ensure proper operation.

  • Perform all mechanical daily maintenance program for the plant

  • Participate in the development and preparation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA); close work permits and document work orders with required information (man hours, materials, and equipment used) for the work order to be closed in the system (SAP).

  • Verify programs and processes by participating in the periodicity review of sap tasks in order to improve maintenance.

  • Communicate the needs of equipment, materials and spare parts to be included in the preparation of the annual budget according to the needs of electrical equipment.

  • Read mechanical drawings and identify the different parts that make up the equipment (remote controls, electromechanical controls, etc.) for proper maintenance and operation.

  • Fulfill with all safety, occupational health and environmental standards and procedures, as established in the Integrated Management System (SGI) of AES, taking care of the collaborators, visitors, contractors and equipment and facilities under your charge. Learn the environmental aspects and impacts, risks and hazards a product of the activity it carries out and the mitigation of these by applying good operating practices and working in harmony with the environment.

  • Ensure the proper functioning of the equipment and evaluate the implementation of new procedures and techniques in search of the continuous improvement of the equipment, in such a way that they maintain the KPIs.

  • Fully perform and comply with Lockout-Tagout procedures for designated equipment (LOTO), use the ingesting guarantees made for the equipment to lock, review and execute it. If you find any anomalies in the process, report it to the supervisor.

  • Analyze trends in the variable log files values and share technical opinion about operational changes or tracking stored variable behavior.

  • Report on the AES computerized program through corrective maintenance request notices, any activity that identifies in which intervention has been required or required, leaving record in the log of the entire existing failure.

  • Perform operational tests of equipment intervened together with the Operator, to assess the health status performed through inspections and verification of operating parameters.

  • Verify that the procedures established by the employees are complied with, for the work to be carried out, according to current procedures and comply with all the standards and safety procedures, Occupational Health and Environment as established in the Integrated Management System.

  • Coordinate and support the work to be carried out in the right turn, according to the technical needs.

  • Participate daily in meetings with the team to coordinate the tasks.

  • Start the seek for the causes of failures of the equipment it oversees, relying on your own knowledge and the manuals and other documentation of the main and auxiliary teams.

  • Technically advise other areas from an operational point of view according to their technical needs, supervising and analyzing and advising the electromechanical work carried out at the plant, according to the technical requirement

  • Follow up, in coordination with the Maintenance Leader, the processes of the acquisition, replacement, maintenance and procurement of the resources, tools and consumable materials associated with his role.

  • Eventually supervise the personnel in charge (contractors, Manpower, auxiliary staff and others) the insurance and correct fulfillment of assigned objectives, tasks and roles

  • Ensure compliance with the Safety and Hygiene Standards of the Quality Management, Environmental Management and Asset Management System according to ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001/96 and ISO 55001/2014 standards, collaborating with campaigns, designed plans.

  • Perform other related and complementary functions with the role.

Requirements

  • Industrial or maintenance technician degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 3 years of industrial technical, maintenance experience in similar roles.

  • English language (Technical)

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Enterprise Resource Program, SAP

  • Integrated EHS & Asset management systems
