Description
Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / Operating Room Tech
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our surgical services team. In this role, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room nurses to prepare operating suites, sterilize and organize surgical instruments, and maintain a strict sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating Room Preparation: Prepare, clean, and organize surgical suites; inspect, arrange, and pass sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies to surgeons during operations.
- Sterile Field Maintenance: Maintain strict aseptic technique before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and prevent infection.
- Intraoperative Support: Assist surgical teams with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and handling of specimens.
- Post-Operative Care: Clean surgical suites post-procedure, safely handle used surgical instruments for sterilization, and restock operating rooms for subsequent cases.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate effectively with operating room nurses, surgeons, and surgical staff to anticipate intraoperative needs and ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care or surgical center setting [Required].
- Certification: Active certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist via NCCT or NBSTSA [Required].
- Key Skills: High attention to detail, deep knowledge of surgical instrumentation, strict adherence to sterile protocols, and strong team collaboration skills.
