Position Summary

      The Senior Manager, Market Intelligence will lead strategic workstreams end-to-end, directing team analysis and shaping executive-ready recommendations on the enterprise's most important growth and corporate development questions. Partnering closely with the Enterprise Strategy team, this role drives market research, competitive analysis, and project management to identify growth opportunities, assess markets, and support M&A and partnership evaluation. The Senior Manager will leverage AI-enabled research and market intelligence tools to accelerate insight generation and inform enterprise decision-making, while coaching junior colleagues and building alignment across senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Market Intelligence workstreams by defining scope, structuring plans, and adjusting course as priorities evolve.
• Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, macroeconomic factors, and growth opportunities to shape strategic recommendations.
• Direct hypothesis-driven analysis, ensuring insights are accurate, timely, and decision-ready.
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into clear points of view by challenging assumptions, reconciling differing perspectives, and connecting findings to broader strategic implications.
• Craft executive-ready narratives, business cases, and recommendations from complex analysis.
• Develop recurring competitive intelligence and rapid-response analyses for senior leaders, distilling complex market and technology developments into concise insights, presentations, and market landscapes.
• Build stakeholder relationships and facilitate discussions that drive alignment.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in market/competitive intelligence, research operations, enterprise or corporate strategy, consulting, or a related strategy/insights function.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex analytical workstreams from scoping through recommendation.
• Strong market research expertise across primary and secondary methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills, including modeling, scenario analysis, and data interpretation.
• Working knowledge of macroeconomic trends and their business implications.
• Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong executive communication skills, including building presentations and business cases for senior audiences.
• Familiarity with AI tools for research and with market intelligence platforms (e.g., AlphaSense, CB Insights, FactSet).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, insurance, retail health, or life sciences.
• Management consulting or corporate strategy experience.
• Knowledge of AI or advanced analytics to accelerate research.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
• Master's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, Economics, or related discipline). An advanced degree may reduce experience needed.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$90,480.00 - $199,144.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
