Summary of Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to support the safe handling, storage, and movement of products within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting temperature-controlled operations, and ensuring materials are processed efficiently and in line with quality and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor temperature-sensitive products during storage and shipment preparation
- Update warehouse transactions, inventory records, and shipment documentation accurately
- Maintain product traceability through effective record keeping and stock control
- Identify damaged, non-conforming, or on-hold materials and follow established procedures
- Move materials safely using approved warehouse equipment
- Prepare packaging materials for outbound shipments
- Organise shipment staging areas to support efficient dispatch operations
- Escalate inventory discrepancies and non-standard handling issues as required
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Understanding of inventory control and stock management processes
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and compliance requirements
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for updating warehouse systems and records
- Commitment to safe working practices
Desirable
- Experience working with temperature-controlled or regulated products
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Certification or experience using warehouse handling equipment
- Understanding of quality assurance and material traceability requirements
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or distribution environments
- Familiarity with shipment preparation and dispatch activities
- Experience supporting inventory investigations and stock reconciliation
- Awareness of GMP, GDP, or similar industry standards

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred. Knowledge in warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping. Knowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements. Knowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials. Knowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations. Knowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements. Knowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools. Ability to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions. Ability to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs. Ability to identify inventory, packaging, shipment, and material handling exceptions for further action. Ability to support timely and accurate order preparation and material movement activities. Ability to manage multiple routine tasks across warehouse workflows while maintaining accuracy. Ability to work with temperature-sensitive materials in line with defined handling requirements.What Cencora offers
