Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 1, to lead a team of quality and mission assurance professionals supporting our repair and manufacturing programs in Warner Robins, GA. The Mission Assurance Manager 1 will be responsible for the product and process compliance, through integration and delivery, to internal and external customers. This position is required to be full-time, on-site in Warner Robins, GA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Direct and mentor a team of 8+ quality employees.
  • Conduct performance reviews, create professional development plans, and foster a culture of zero-defect manufacturing, proactive risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement training programs for quality employees.

Quality Management System Oversight

  • Own implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of ISO 9001 / AS9100 procedures/policies, and other defense specific quality systems (Mil-specs, ITAR, DFARS).
  • Ensure audit readiness for DoD, DCMA, customer, and third-party assessments; lead internal and external audits and drive corrective and preventive action to closure.

Process & Product Assurance

  • Define, validate, and monitor production quality plans, inspection strategies, and test procedures.
  • Identify risks, implement root cause actions, track effectiveness, and disseminate lessons learned.
  • Oversee root cause analysis (RCCA) of nonconformances, field failures, warranty data, and failure investigations; implement CAPA and quality/reliability focused actions.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to translate design requirements into manufacturable, inspectable and testable specifications.
  • Manage/lead adjudication and expeditious closure of non-conformances through MRB with internal and external stakeholders.

Supplier Quality & Procurement Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality organization to address supplier escapes.
  • Work with Global Supply Chain and Supplier Quality to drive supplier corrective action plans and track their effectiveness.

Metrics, Reporting & Data Driven Decision Making

  • Track key quality indicators and present trend analyses and improvements to eliminate trends to senior leadership.
  • Provide data driven recommendations for process redesign, automation, lean initiatives, and cost saving opportunities while maintaining compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, grow, and inspire high performing teams while delivering mission critical outcomes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of Quality and/or Mission Assurance experience; master’s degree with 3+ years of the same experience; Associate degree with 7+ years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; OR 9+ years of quality and/or manufacturing experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with leading teams and/or integrated projects.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports Standard.
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) techniques.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Minitab, Tableau or equivalent tools for statistical analysis.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System implementation & certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Root Cause Analysis tools such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, 8D, & 5 Why Analysis.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience in management or leadership of people and/or processes in a Manufacturing or Production environment
  • BS in engineering, or other STEM area
  • Working experience of SAP, MES, ISE and CADSTAR
  • Certified AS9100 auditor or lead auditor
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black-Belt Certified
  • Current US Government Secret Clearance
  • ASQ Certifications such as CQE, CQI, CQT, CQM, etc.

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,500.00 - $156,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
