As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, design oversight, and engineering support to ensure the successful delivery of structural solutions across complex and mission-critical projects, preferably within data center environments.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual looking to excel in a regional role based in Singapore. You will act as the primary structural engineering representative, working collaboratively with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to support the development and delivery of newbuild Data Centers and critical infrastructure projects across the APAC region.
Job Description
Description:
- Review and provide technical advice on structural engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and development plans to ensure compliance with project requirements, engineering standards, and industry best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact and Client Representative for structural engineering matters, working closely with internal teams, client representatives, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support and monitor design and construction progress, ensuring adherence to approved structural designs, project specifications, applicable building codes, local regulations, and engineering standards.
- Identify potential design, constructability, and construction issues at an early stage and provide practical recommendations to mitigate technical risks, project delays, and cost impacts.
- Review and oversee compliance with local building regulations, environmental requirements, planning conditions, project-specific criteria, and applicable structural design standards.
- Review, comment on, and approve project documentation including structural drawings, calculations, technical reports, specifications, design packages, shop drawings, and engineering submissions.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering recommendations to support project decision-making and resolution of complex structural design and construction challenges.
- Support structural assessments, technical reviews, engineering studies, and risk evaluations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant design solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between multidisciplinary teams including Architectural, CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, EHS, Security, Network, and Operations teams to ensure alignment across all project interfaces.
- Attend design review and coordination meetings, providing continual input to optimize structural solutions, improve constructability, and enhance project outcomes.
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and specialist suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives, quality standards, design intent, and client requirements.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures, standards, review processes, and engineering best practices.
- Escalate critical design and construction issues affecting project scope, cost, quality, safety, or schedule and support timely resolution through coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
- Support technical reviews and assessments to identify opportunities for design optimization, value engineering, material efficiency, and improved project delivery.
- Maintain records of design changes, technical issues, engineering decisions, and project risks, and assist in evaluating their impacts on project cost, schedule, quality, and constructability.
- Ensure timely review, closure, and documentation of project deliverables, design comments, technical queries, and outstanding engineering actions.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including revision control, document tracking, deliverable management, and final project records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design, design management, and project delivery for newbuild or infrastructure fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, design methodologies, building codes, regulations, industry standards, and construction practices.
- Experience in the design and review of reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and building structural systems for large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical facilities.
- Proficiency in structural design and coordination software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and related digital collaboration platforms.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong understanding of design coordination, constructability reviews, construction methodologies, and structural system integration.
- Familiarity with mission-critical facilities, data centers, industrial developments, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize activities, manage multiple deliverables, and support projects within schedule constraints.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical review capabilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional project teams.
