Job Description:
Are you a hands-on maintenance leader who enjoys developing teams, improving equipment reliability, and solving complex manufacturing challenges? Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and facility support activities at our Willoughby, OH facility.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for supporting safety, quality, operational performance, customer experience, and long-term profitability. You'll oversee maintenance activities while partnering closely with Production and site leadership to improve equipment performance, manage costs, strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and build a high-performing maintenance organization.

What You'll Do
Lead Maintenance & Facility Operations
- Lead, direct, and coordinate assigned maintenance and facility support activities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the maintenance team
- Partner with management and Production to evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of projects, equipment, and repairs
- Communicate developments that could affect production schedules, equipment availability, or costs
- Help ensure maintenance resources are effectively aligned with operational priorities
Drive Equipment Reliability
- Support the diagnosis and resolution of machinery and equipment malfunctions
- Provide hands-on technical guidance when troubleshooting complex equipment issues
- Direct activities involving the dismantling, assembly, installation, and repair of industrial machinery
- Recommend improvements to production methods and equipment performance
- Identify changes to equipment and working conditions that can improve efficiency
- Apply preventive and predictive maintenance practices to strengthen equipment reliability and reduce operational disruptions
Lead & Develop the Maintenance Team
- Develop employees and strengthen the technical capabilities of the maintenance organization
- Support staffing and workforce planning needs
- Coach employees through troubleshooting and work-related challenges
- Motivate team members to achieve performance and operational goals
- Maintain accountability for policies, procedures, safety, and work standards
- Step in and perform activities alongside the team when necessary
Champion Safety & Workplace Standards
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable safety policies and regulations
- Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with established requirements
- Enforce safety regulations and promote accountability throughout the team
- Maintain strong housekeeping practices and an organized maintenance environment
- Incorporate safety into equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance activities
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Stay current on emerging technologies that could improve manufacturing and maintenance operations
- Evaluate new technologies and develop recommendations for implementation
- Analyze and resolve work problems while supporting employees in effective problem-solving
- Identify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
- Develop and maintain performance metrics to measure maintenance effectiveness
- Use data and operational insights to drive continuous improvement
Manage Resources & Costs
- Support budget preparation and cost-control activities
- Evaluate project and repair costs to support effective business decisions
- Maintain and manage the spare parts storeroom
- Analyze technology trends and workforce requirements to anticipate future maintenance needs
- Balance equipment reliability, cost, staffing, and production requirements when making decisions
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience
- Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience in a related field
- Experience with supervision, maintenance planning and scheduling, and estimating preferred
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance systems
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience leading and developing employees within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to effectively balance maintenance priorities, production needs, and cost considerations

The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between leadership responsibilities and the plant floor, whether that means coaching employees, evaluating equipment performance, troubleshooting a mechanical issue, reviewing costs, or partnering with Production on an urgent operational need.

The salary range for this position is $95,300-119,100. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
