Description
A leading organisation is seeking a Property Accountant to support the financial administration and management of a portfolio of properties. This role is ideal for an adaptable accounting professional who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, strong financial controls and strict reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor cash flow, internal bank transfers and bank reconciliations.
- Manage creditors, supplier reconciliations, invoices, purchase orders and payment processes.
- Maintain accurate general ledger allocations and ensure tenant income is correctly receipted.
- Assist with budgeting, cost monitoring and monthly rolling forecasts.
- Prepare management accounts, reconciliations, variance explanations and supporting financial reports.
- Support external audit processes and resolve audit queries.
- Manage monthly VAT calculations, VAT201 submissions and SARS-related requirements.
- Maintain financial controls, support risk management and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting Sciences.
- NQF Level 6/7 qualification.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
- Previous property accounting experience will be highly advantageous.
- Experience within the property or construction industry will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of accounting packages and sound financial acumen.
- Good computer literacy, business acumen and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accountability and self-management skills.
