The Role
We are seeking a Warehouse Team Lead to play a key role in the delivery of safe, efficient and customer-focused warehouse operations. This position combines people leadership, operational execution and process management, ensuring warehouse activities are completed to the highest standards of safety, service, stock integrity and operational performance.
Working across a rotating schedule of floor-based operational leadership and office-based coordination activities, you will maintain visibility across all areas of the warehouse operation while supporting continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
The successful candidate will lead by example, build team capability, drive accountability and contribute to the ongoing development of warehouse processes and performance.
Shift Pattern:
Rotating Shift Pattern
- Day Shift: 06:00 – 14:00
- Evening Shift: 14:00 – 22:20
The successful candidate will rotate across both shift patterns and demonstrate flexibility to support operational requirements where required.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Service Delivery
- Coordinate day-to-day warehouse activities to ensure operational targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Support the execution of inbound and outbound warehouse processes while maintaining service and productivity standards.
- Ensure customer orders are loaded accurately and delivered On Time In Full (OTIF).
- Support effective warehouse planning and resource allocation to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and operational discipline across the warehouse.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock integrity and inventory accuracy across warehouse operations.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and support root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure goods receipt activities are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Support inventory control processes and continuous accuracy improvement initiatives.
People Leadership
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and support to warehouse team members.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team environment.
- Communicate operational priorities clearly and effectively across shifts.
- Support coaching, development and performance management activities within the team.
- Promote accountability and encourage continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety-first culture across all warehouse activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Promote safe working practices and support the identification and resolution of operational risks.
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe, compliant and responsible working environment.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Complete operational reporting, KPI tracking and shift handovers to support effective communication across teams.
- Collaborate with Planning, Production, Market Supply and other key stakeholders to support operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, service levels and operational effectiveness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance warehouse performance and customer service.
What You'll Bring
Essential Criteria
- Experience working within a warehouse, logistics or supply chain environment.
- Experience leading, coordinating or supervising operational teams.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and stock management processes.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage competing operational demands.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across multiple teams and functions.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience supporting operational performance reporting and KPI management.
- Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives within a warehouse or logistics environment.
