Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed X Ray Screening in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Screener at a government location, you will use screening equipment to help identify prohibited items, control access, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity. Armed guard card holders are eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on BONUS for Full-Time or $3,000 for Part Time.

Must have valid NV ARMED PILB at time of hire.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen individuals and belongings using assigned screening equipment and procedures; identify prohibited or unauthorized items and follow established reporting protocols.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, and help maintain orderly entry and exit flow.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter, reporting unusual activity, hazards, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least six months of security-related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
