[What the role is]
The job requirements for Lead Engineer (Operations) are as follows:[What you will be working on]
- Plan and implement operational activities to ensure plant processes and equipment are operated at design capacity and effluent meets quality for discharge and NEWater production.
- Manage and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders on water quality control, laboratory works, load dispatch and plant shutdown works.
- Analyse water quality data and propose operational changes to optimize water quality and/or plant performance. This includes the use of various water quality and equipment performance modelling software and data visualization software such as Qliksense.
- Prepare, coordinate and present monthly plant water quality and performance reports (including water/biosolids quality, resource management, equipment status, etc). Review SOPs/Response plans for audit compliance and effective execution.
- Oversee and guide the liquids and solids operations and processes in Ulu Pandan WRP, to ensure the treatment units are reliable in operation, and treated effluent and biosolids meets the required quality specifications. Able to attend to emergency calls or activation back to plant after office hours for work exigencies.
- Engage and coordinate with Contractor in troubleshooting and maintenance of liquids and biosolids treatment processes/equipment issues to achieve optimal plant operations. Ensure that all safety provisions and requirements are complied with.
- Budget planning and management (OPEX and CAPEX) for operations and maintenance. Plan, monitor and manage monthly committed expenditure to ensure they remain within the approved budget for each financial year
- Prepare project papers, specifications, tenders/quotations for plant improvement works, routine or ad-hoc maintenance works. Manage various supply, operations and maintenance contracts.
- Develop and implement innovation and plant improvement projects to improve operational processes, workplace safety, energy efficiency, work productivity, and equipment resilience.
- Ensure compliance to safety requirements for all works, including but not limited to – putting up NTW/PTW permits, conduct toolbox meeting and RA briefing, conduct safety inspections, prepare/review RA and SWP.
- Lead and participate in internal and external audits, including ISO, IAP and EAP audits, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and support audit activities, including audit preparation, documentation, evidence gathering, site inspections, and follow-up on audit findings and corrective actions.
[What we are looking for]
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or other relevant Engineering Discipline
- Graduate with minimum 8 years of relevant working experience is preferred.
- Proficient in computer skills – e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Able to work in used water treatment environment and physically able to perform site works
Work Location
- Officer will be based at Ulu Pandan Water Reclamation Plant and subsequently Tuas Water Reclamation Plant, but may be required to travel to other sites for adhoc work.
- Work reporting timing:
8am to 5:30pm (Mon – Thurs) and 5pm (Fri), with 1 hour lunch break in between.
