About the Roles

Lakeland HR Solutions is currently seeking skilled Apprentice and Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Heavy Equipment Technicians) to join multiple premier clients across the Lakeland and Lakeland-adjacent regions.

Work Environments & Rotations

  • Local Shop Roles: Standard shift schedules with nightly home time (St. Paul, Elk Point, Bonnyville, Cold Lake).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic checks, preventative maintenance, and complete overhauls on heavy equipment, highway trucks, or industrial fleets (on-road and off-road).

  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.

  • Maintain clear service logs, work orders, and inspection reports.

  • Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, field regulations, and site hazard assessments.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certification: Registered Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice (1st to 4th year) OR Interprovincial Journeyperson / Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician (HET).

  • Experience: Hands-on experience working on heavy equipment (Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere) or heavy-duty highway trucks.

  • Drivers License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 is a strong asset).

  • Safety Tickets: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSTS/BSO (asset or willing to obtain for camp/oilfield sites).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset.
