Good Work starts in the workshop. As a Fabricator/Welder at Fulton Hogan, you’ll help build the products that keep our projects moving and give our customers confidence.

You’ll be part of a skilled, down-to-earth team, working closely with the Workshop Leading Hand to fabricate, fit, weld, assemble and finish quality products safely and right first time.

This is a hands-on role where safety, workmanship and accountability matter. You’ll read the job properly, use the right materials and procedures, keep quality records up to date, and take pride in doing the work well.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

• Safely Fabricate, fit, weld, assemble and finish components to drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Complete Welding and fabrication work across carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium, including structural steel, pipe spools and pressure piping.
• Carry Out self-inspections, dimensional checks and fit-up verification, while maintaining traceability and accurate QA documentation as work progresses.
• Work To production priorities and agreed timeframes without compromising safety, environmental standards or quality.
• Raise Hazards, defects, drawing queries, material shortages and equipment issues early, and support a safe, respectful workshop culture.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

• A Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication, Welding, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• At Least three years’ post-trade fabrication and welding experience, with current ASME Section IX welder qualifications relevant to the work.
• Proven Experience with GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, FCAW and MMAW/Stick, along with strong capability in structural steel, pipe spool fabrication and pressure piping.
• The Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, pipe isometrics, WPS documentation, work packs and inspection requirements.
• A Strong safety mindset, right-first-time approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with others while backing apprentices and developing team members.
