About this role
The Discovery pillar's core mission is to make it easy and delightful for retailers to find brands and products their customers will love. This role will own product development of our algorithms powering search, the largest discovery surface — with a specific focus on search ranking.
We're looking for an experienced Search PM, ideally with ranking experience, who can turn product insight into a durable roadmap and make sharp prioritization calls between near-term wins and longer-term investments. You'll work closely with a world-class data science team, and you'll need enough technical fluency to engage credibly with their work even as they drive the technical execution.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute a strategy that takes our search experience to the next level via ranking algorithmic iterations.
- Own a product roadmap for Search Ranking that is analytically grounded, clearly prioritized, and connected to business outcomes
- Direct the analytical work of the pod — working alongside a dedicated strategy & analytics partner to identify novel opportunities, diagnose root causes of failure modes, interpret outputs, and translate findings into actionable insight
- Determine the right sequencing of opportunities, including when to invest in technical/foundational work that unlocks future gains versus near-term order volume delivery
- Define and refine the metrics that give the team a clear picture of Search Ranking performance and the retailer experience
- Build trusted partnerships across ML Platform, Discovery Infrastructure, and adjacent Search teams, managing team bandwidth while delivering on shared goals
- Represent the team's strategy and progress to leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of product management experience, including direct ownership of search or ranking systems, ideally at a marketplace or e-commerce company
- Strong prioritization instincts — a track record of identifying the highest-impact opportunities and sequencing them, balancing near-term wins against longer-term technical investment
- Technical fluency — comfortable engaging with technical white papers and holding informed conversations with engineering and DS counterparts, even while relying on them to drive execution
- Execution rigor across complex, multi-dependency work
Salary Range
San Francisco, CA, US: The pay range for this role is $220,000 - $302,500 USD per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors, including transferable skills, work experience, market demand, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
