We are seeking a talented individual to join Marsh Namibia. This role will be based in Windhoek, hybrid and has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Marsh Risk country business leaders are responsible for leading the go-to-market solution strategy for their business in country. They have P&L accountability for the business and ensure financial success by working with the region leadership, as well as country and local teams to align pricing and approach, execute plans, deploy resources, and drive client engagement. Additionally, they partner cross-business to build pipeline, strengthen products, and deliver growth, collaboration and efficiency.
Position reports to Marsh Africa CEO and member of Africa management committee.
We will count on you to:
Strategy Management
- Designs, communicates and executes on the Marsh Risk Namibia strategy and business plan, in compliance with Marsh Risk’s (Global and IMEA) strategy, leveraging knowledge on service offerings, the Africa market and competitive environment.
- Works closely with Regional stakeholders, Country senior management to foster effective working relationships and ensure alignment with overarching business objectives.
- Provides strategic direction and ensures rigorous execution of business plans based on qualitative and quantitative metrics
- Communicates business plan and growth strategies to the Marsh Namibia management.
- Ensures core capabilities underpinning growth and profitability objectives are clearly defined, assessed, monitored and systematically enhanced
Operations
- Ensures the Country provides products, services and industry knowledge that meet the needs and expectations of clients. Responsible for new product and solution development. Translates client requirements to accurately reflect their operations and risk needs.
- Identifies new business opportunities and supports new business generation.
- Works with the Namibia leaders to manage client relationships ensuring client satisfaction. Maximizes client retention and grows revenue from existing clients through product and channel expansion
- Provides insight from the marketplace to regional leadership to quickly identify market trends/issues.
- Through collaboration and knowledge, applies the broad resources in Marsh to solve clients’ business risks.
- Drives the implementation of marketing approaches to achieve goals and monitors their progress.
- Negotiates and implements strategic partnerships / alliances that enhance sales growth
- Adjusts pricing and services guidelines to meet financial goals.
- Champions implementation and evaluates degree of compliance to professional standards.
- Drives the digital strategy to create differentiation in the market.
- Defines client service standards and develops the most efficient method to exchange best practices.
- Ensures that all Marsh Greater Good and Transparency Standards are met. Ensures that all colleagues complete required compliance training. Implements strategies to ensure minimal E&O exposure.

- Sets strategic financial direction and sales goals for Marsh Namibia, based on economic and business trends at the country and global level, as well as on the competitive environment
- Develops and is accountable for the budget (top and bottom line) and annual plan for Marsh Namiba.
- Analyses overall financial results, expenses, and investments throughout the country and takes actions to ensure the most cost-effective approach to improve performance.
- Provides guidelines on this matter to client and practice leaders and works with the country leader to develop country and region financial initiatives.
- Defines consistent values (time and cost) for services across the Practice. Ensures the practice is able to extract the appropriate fees for services rendered.
Leadership

What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Business Administration, Insurance, Law.
- Minimum of 15 years of industry or adjacent industry experience
- Strategy development and design of proven sales/service delivery models required.
- Prior P&L responsibility required.
- Demonstrated management experience required, EXCO level
- Experience setting the vision and leading and implementing new initiatives related to client management, new business development, and business penetration.
- Ability to conceptualize a project and create a vision.
- Ability to establish trust with clients, peers and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others and follow-through on projects to completion.
