Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director or designee, Facility Event Room set up is responsible for executing the setup and breakdown of furniture, Tables and chairs for events, meetings, and daily operations across campus facilities. This role ensures that all arrangements meet institutional standards and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Move, arrange, and maintain furniture and materials as needed.
- Inspect completed setups for quality, safety, and compliance with institutional standards.
- Maintain inventory of setup equipment and report damage or shortages.
- Ensure timely completion of setups and breakdowns, sometimes under tight schedules.
- Ability to utilize electronic devices
- Vacuum, Shampoo carpets in meeting rooms, wash windows, clean chairs, tables as required
- Remove trash and discarded items per university policy.
- Clean whiteboards, credenza and windows.
- Assist with general facilities and support tasks as needed like organizing lobby areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of related experience in facilities, event setup, or related field
- Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of equipment utilized
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions to supervise employees effectively
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of supervision. Room set up standards.
- Knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines governing assigned unit activities.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
- Effective communication skills – verbal and written
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to off-site locations and clean driving record required.
- Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling materials.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel to offsite locations
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
- SAFETY REQUREMENTS:
- Adhere to all institutional safety protocols and procedures.
- Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling materials.
- Ensure all setups comply with fire codes, accessibility standards, and hazard prevention guidelines.
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly to supervisors.
- Ability to withstand physical strain of performing manual tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Considerable walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, the lifting up to 50 pounds; physical ability to reach, climb stepladders; possess sufficient vision, hearing, and speech to perform the required tasks safely and efficiently.Possess manual dexterity.
