AI Engineer

What’s the Opportunity?  

As an AI Engineer, part of Zafin’s AIOS Platform or Forward Deploy Units, you’ll help turn practical AI ideas into reliable software that customers can use every day. You’ll work across the lifecycle: understanding a problem, experimenting with an approach, building the product, shipping it, and improving it once it is in use. The work includes AI-powered workflows, conversational experiences, search, automation, and the data systems behind them. 

This role is for someone who enjoys tackling new challenges and creating solutions from the ground up. You are curious enough to explore unfamiliar problems, resourceful enough to find a path through them, and accountable enough to see the work through. 

What Will You Do?  

• Build and support AI-powered product features.
• Develop workflows, conversational experiences, search, and automation that solve real customer problems.
• Design the data pipelines, integrations, APIs, and application components that make AI features useful and dependable.
• Write clear, tested, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews, debugging, and production support.
• Work with product, engineering, subject matter experts, and customers to turn business needs into working software.
• Run experiments, learn from results, and improve features after launch.
• Participate in customer workshops, technical discussions, demos, and knowledge-transfer sessions when your perspective can help move a solution forward.
• Create practical technical documentation, implementation guides, and runbooks.
• Continuous learning. AI tooling, customer needs, and the best way to solve a problem will change, and you’ll help the team adapt. 

What Do You Need to Succeed?  

Must haves 

• Experience building and shipping complex software in an enterprise environment.
• 2+ years of experience with AI applications, such as LLM-based workflows, conversational interfaces, search, or automation.
• Solid understanding of generative AI, LLMs, and the trade-offs involved in putting AI features into production.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including APIs, databases, testing, debugging, and system design.
• Ability to take an ambiguous problem, ask good questions, and turn it into a sensible technical plan.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ownership-driven mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities, taking initiative, and delivering results end-to-end.
• Hands on experience using Git
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• While Python and React are widely used within our environment, we place greater value on strong engineering fundamentals, sound technical judgment, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies than expertise in any specific language or framework.

• Genuinely curious about how things work and willing to get hands-on with unfamiliar technology.

• Domain knowledge of banking, financial services, enterprise data platforms, AI-driven automation, and large-scale enterprise IT environments will be considered a strong asset
