Description
We are currently seeking for our Headquarter in Hamburg a highly motivated and dedicated
Senior Expert Accounting Standards IFRS (all genders)
Full-time and permanent
Responsibilities:
Monitor IFRS /DRS and regulatory developments, assess their impact, and proactively prepare the organization for upcoming changes in accounting standards
Drive the development and continuous improvement of Group IFRS Accounting Policies, including drafting, updating, and communicating internal guidelines
Act as a subject-matter expert for complex accounting questions, supporting subsidiaries, business units, and Group functions
Support the preparation of Consolidated financial statements, including judgmental areas, disclosures, and audit-related topics, and ensure appropriateness of Notes and Management report according to IFRS and DRS
Lead Projects to implement new standards and regulations according to IFRS and DRS/HGB with effect on Group Financial Statements
Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate IFRS accounting expertise across the organization
Collaborate closely with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and high-quality documentation
Contribute to cross-functional projects, such as M&A transactions, new business models, system implementations, and process harmonization
Required qualifications:
Successful university degree (or equivalent) in business administration, advanced studies in international accounting, group accounting or auditing
5+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting, ideally within a Big Four firm or a publicly listed company
Deep, demonstrable expertise in IFRS and strong analytical skills for complex accounting topics
Experience in Pharma/Biotech is a strong advantage
Proactive mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting issues into clear, actionable guidance
Fluent in German and English
Further ideal qualifications:
Experience in Technical Accounting department of a Listed Company
Experience in Big Four firm
Experience of working in an international environment, ideally in Pharma/Biotech
