As a Manager, Market Research & Insights, you will help bring the voice of the customer, partner, and business into how Starbucks learns, tests, and makes decisions. As part of the Testing Center of Excellence, you will lead insight generation and integration efforts that translate strategic questions into actionable learning and decision-ready recommendations that help shape future concepts, experiences, and business strategies.
Working across Consumer Insights, Finance, Operations, Analytics, and business teams, you will help ensure customer, operational, and financial learnings are connected into a cohesive understanding of business performance. Through this work, you will support an enterprise testing ecosystem that enables faster learning, better decisions, and greater confidence in investment and scaling decisions.
As a manager, market research & insights, you will…
- Define learning strategies and objectives – Partner with stakeholders to establish learning objectives, key questions, hypotheses, and success measures that guide testing, innovation, and business decisions.
- Lead research that answers critical business questions – Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research that generates customer, partner, and business insights to inform strategic priorities and investment decisions.
- Integrate insights across multiple learning domains – Integrate insights across multiple domains: Synthesize customer, operational, financial, and business data to identify performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
- Develop actionable recommendations: Translate research findings and business results into clear implications and recommendations that inform investment, implementation, and scaling decisions.
- Strengthen enterprise learning – Create compelling readouts, document key findings, and share knowledge across initiatives to improve visibility and accelerate organizational learning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor – Bring an insight-driven perspective to strategic discussions and influence cross-functional partners through clear, credible, and objective recommendations.
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Business, Analytics, Human-Centered Design, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, customer experience, analytics, strategy, experimentation, innovation, or a related field.
- Experience designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research using methods such as surveys, interviews, ethnographic research, concept testing, and customer studies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize multiple data sources into meaningful insights, implications, and recommendations.
- Experience developing executive presentations, integrated readouts, and decision-ready recommendations.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across complex, matrixed organizations.
- Experience connecting customer insights to business strategy, experimentation, operational performance, or investment decisions.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex information for a variety of audiences.
- Experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms preferred.
- Experience in retail, restaurants, QSR, consumer products, or other consumer-facing industries preferred.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
